I guess that it's better to be idolized than hated?

Today when I was doing something (I can't remember what), one of the councelors here told me that I was her "idol" and she really admired me for everything that I had been through (because I told her how my car accident happened and she heard from other people that last year I was in a wheelchair and this year I'm not- I'm using a walker sometimes to get around camp and for safety). It's really not so bad here. One of the ladies who is going to be doing a class, asked me if she could talk about my situation in the class on Wednesday. She said that she was going to talk about how I took a trip to New York (and how I met with people from the independent living center of Long Island and spoke to people from that organization about housing) and how I was doing rehab and not just living in New York without looking at it first. The number one reason why I even took the trip to New York first was to shut people up, so they wouldn't say that I was being irresponsible and just taking the trip on the spur of the moment. I've learned from my mistakes.
